Mr. Owen Elvis Mink
Age 78, of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, August 25 at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Owen was born on December 15, 1943, in Bloss, Kentucky, the son of the late Charlie and Jewel (Jones) Mink.
On May 27, 1966, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Kay Baird and from that union came three children. He was a mechanic and worked for South Kentucky Mac and International Harvester. He received several awards for his mechanical skills. He also was the owner of I & M Garbage. He enjoyed racing and watching NASCAR, and WLJC. He loved spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Mink is survived by his wife Bonnie Kay (Baird) Mink; three daughters: Rebecca Machel and Anthony, Sabrina Bishop and Chris, and Amanda Cole and Gary, all of Mount Vernon, Kentucky; one brother Doyle Dale Mink and Virgie of London, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Dustin Bishop and Maegan, Dakota Bishop, Cora Machel, Jordan, and Brynna Davis; two great grandchildren: Hudson and Hadley Bishop; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by six brothers: Brice, Ronald, Gilbert, Delmer, Paul, and Leo Mink.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, at 6pm followed by the funeral service at 8pm.
An interment service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Cresthaven Cemetery beginning at 1pm. Officiants for both services will be Rev. Jason Ivey and Rev. Eddie Muse.
Casket bearers will be Dakota and Dustin Bishop, Cora Machel, Jordan and Brynna Davis, Wyatt LePore, and Kagan Miller. Honorary casket bearers will be Larry Hensley, Jeff Miller, David Mink, and Zack Wallin
