Passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Knoxville, Tennessee after a short illness. He was 80 years, 3 months & 18 days old.
John was born to John R. & Lula McFarland Lewis in Eagan, Tennessee on April 24, 1932. He was one of four babies born, two boys & two girls. They were named John, Joe, Jean & Jane. Jane died shortly after she was born, Joe on May 04 & Jean on June 10, 1932.
John attended school in Primory, Eagan and then in Jellico where his family moved after his father died in 1942. He graduated from Jellico High School in 1950, he then served in the Navy in the early 1950's. He then was a painter by trade in Ohio, Tennessee & Florida. His vegetable garden every summer was his pride & joy.
