Mrs. Lucille (Barley) Head

Age 86 of Williamsburg, Kentucky went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 01, 2025, at Williamsburg Health & Rehab, her home for the past 11 years.  She was born November 11, 1938, in Fonde, Kentucky to Marion & Lottie (Lawson) Barley.  She was a loving and giving mother and grandmother until her death. 

Lucille served as President of the Resident's council for 6 years, advocating for the needs and desires of the residents while encouraging them to participate in the many activities offered by the nursing home.  Such as bingo, sewing, cooking and canning.  Residents have informed the family that they began participating in activities due to her encouragement.  When her health declined so much that she could no longer participate, the residents honored her by naming her vice president of Resident Council.  The family is grateful for the loving care provided to her by the Nursing Home staff through her last years.

Lucille served as pianist and singer for many churches, revivals and funerals.  She also worked tirelessly fundraising for churches, preparing meals and baked goods for sale to benefit the church.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking and loved serving fer family and friends, never turning away anyone who was hungry.  She worked as a cook at the Wheel in TruckStop in Jellico, and as a caregiver for her friend, Mabel McCombs.

Brothers: Jay Barley, John Barley

Sisters: Marie Henderson, Francis Russell, Jewel Worley, June Wilson

     She is survived by:

Sons: Robert Head & wife Cindy, John Head, Tony Head

Daughters: Tammy Dover, Shirley Clubb & husband Tracy

Eleven Grandchildren & Nine Great Grandchildren

A host of nieces, nephews, friends & family to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends: 12 - 2 p.m. Saturday, July 05, 2025, at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral services at 2 p.m.
