John Steven Ratcliff

Monday, December 19 John Steven Ratcliff passed away at his family home in Greeneville Tn. Steve was born February 26, 1956, in England to John and Sarah Ratcliff. Where John was stationed in the United States Air Force.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah Ratcliff. Steve was survived by his wife, Terri Ratcliff and son’s Paul (wife Jessica) and Parker Ratcliff, granddaughters Taylor and Sara Ratcliff. Terri’s daughter, Danielle and her husband Kyle and grandson, Easton. His sister, Carol and Jim Bryson of Nashville. Nieces Nadia Bryson, Maria and Diego Santos, and nephews Nick and Alex Bryson.

Steve graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in criminal justice before going to work for the Sevierville Police Department for close to 10 years. After that he opened his own private investigative business. Steve went to work for a lifelong friend David Ball driving a tractor trailer in West Texas. This is where he met Terri. Terri and Steve moved back to East Tn around 2011 and then began farming at his old home in Greeneville TN, at Ratcliff Farms.

The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-6 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service downtown. The funeral service will be held at 6 pm with Pastor Tom Wells officiating. The graveside service will be held Thursday at 1 pm in Jellico Cemetery. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery at 12:45 pm for the service.
