Age 98 of Rockholds, Kentucky passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026, at home.  She was born April 11, 1927, in Duff, Tennessee.  Elsie was a member of the Tannery Hollow Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

     Elsie is preceded in death by:

Husband: John Rufus Shelby, Jr.

Son: Bennett "Benny" Shelby

Son-in-law: Larry Jackson

Father: John Franklin Shaw

Mother: Laura Della (Ellis) Shaw

Brothers: Conol, Kenneth, Ottis, Gene, Lewis & J.H. Shaw

Sisters: Dorothy Shaw, Mickey Collins, Cleda Shaw, Alma Jane Cordova

     She is survived by:

Daughter: Benita Ruth (Shelby) Jackson of Rockholds, Kentucky

Son: John Bryan Shelby & wife Linda of Williamsburg, Kentucky

Grandchildren: Kimberly, Marty, Ryan, Noah, Michelle & Brian

Several Great Grandchildren

The family will receive friends: 1 - 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 04, 2026, Tannery Hollow Baptist Church with Funeral Services at 2 p.m. (649 Maple St. Jellico, TN 37762)
